Lucknow: In a spiritually significant event dedicated to the welfare and prosperity of the nation, a special ritualistic worship ceremony was conducted on Saturday, June 7, at the historic Ram Janaki Temple located on Gokaran Nath Road, Lucknow. The ceremony was led by Pandit Hari Narayan Shukla on the sacred occasion of Dwadashi Tithi during the Shukla Paksha of Jyestha month, under the Chitra Nakshatra, Variyan Yoga, and with the Moon transiting through Libra.
The Ram Janaki Temple, established in 1902, holds great historical and spiritual importance. On this occasion, homage was paid to the temple’s founder Ayodhya Prasad Shukla (Narad Baba) and his successors Pandit Ram Manohar Shukla and Munna Lal Sharma, acknowledging their contributions in maintaining the temple’s legacy and spiritual tradition.
The present temple priest Pandit Dhananjay Shukla and several devotees participated in the rituals, which began with the invocation and worship of Lord Ganesha, followed by deities including Surya Dev (Sun God), Kartikeya, Radha-Krishna, Shiv-Parvati, Maa Durga, Lord Hanuman (Bajrangbali), and Bhairav Maharaj.

The rituals were performed with traditional Vedic chants and offerings, invoking divine blessings for national well-being, peace, and prosperity. The atmosphere within the temple premises was charged with devotion and reverence.

Following the pooja, a grand bhandara (community feast) was organized for devotees and the local community, in line with the temple’s tradition of service and inclusion. The event brought together people from various walks of life, reinforcing the collective spirit of devotion and cultural heritage.

This auspicious celebration once again highlighted the timeless role of temples in fostering unity, spiritual growth, and social welfare.
